The Council approved Amendment No. 1 with Carollo Engineers for the Campus, Downtown, and East Washington Ave Sanitary Sewer Study.

Amendment No. 4 with Brown and Caldwell was authorized to continue engineering services for the Door Creek Watershed Study.

The Engineering Division’s 2025 Compliance Maintenance Annual Report (CMAR) for the Madison Sewer Utility was formally accepted.

The Madison Common Council unanimously approved a slate of water and wastewater initiatives during its June 23, 2026, meeting, advancing key engineering studies to support the city's utility infrastructure. Passed as part of the consent agenda, the approvals authorize continued work on major regional sanitary and stormwater projects. The Council authorized Amendment No. 1 to an existing purchase of services contract with Carollo Engineers. The firm is providing engineering services for a comprehensive sanitary sewer study covering the Campus, Downtown, and East Washington Avenue corridors, which span multiple aldermanic districts. The study will help the city plan for future capacity needs and infrastructure upgrades in its most densely populated areas. During a separate discussion on area land-use plans, Alder Derek Field noted the importance of accurate population forecasting when planning for such sewer upgrades. Additionally, the Council approved Amendment No. 4 to its contract with Brown and Caldwell. The firm is conducting the Door Creek Watershed Study, a critical stormwater and drainage assessment impacting Districts 3 and 16. Finally, the Council accepted the Engineering Division’s 2025 Compliance Maintenance Annual Report (CMAR) for the Madison Sewer Utility. The citywide report is a standard regulatory requirement that documents the operational and maintenance performance of the municipal sewer system.
