Carollo Engineers, Inc. secured a fourth contract amendment to serve as Project Advisor and Technical Consultant for the Expansion of the Northeast Water Purification Plant.

A $546,000 engineering services contract amendment was awarded to BGE, Inc. for improvements at various well sites and re-pump stations.

The city approved a $621,288 purchase of water meters and replacement parts from Neptune Technology Group, Inc.

The Houston City Council has approved a slate of water and stormwater infrastructure contracts for Houston Public Works, advancing several key capital projects across the city. Leading the approvals during the March 3, 2026, meeting was a $5.5 million contract awarded to GRAVA, LLC. The Katy-based firm, which specializes in underground utilities and paving, will provide construction services for the FY2026 Drainage Rehab (SWAT) Work Order No. 1. GRAVA has an established track record with Houston Public Works, having previously executed multiple citywide street and drainage rehabilitation contracts, including recent FY2023 and FY2025 SWAT and roadway projects. The new project is financed through the Dedicated Drainage and Street Renewal Capital Fund, which relies on city drainage charges. The council also authorized a fourth amendment to a professional engineering services contract with Carollo Engineers, Inc. The firm is acting as the Project Advisor and Technical Consultant for the ongoing Expansion of the Northeast Water Purification Plant (NEWPP). Expenditures for this contract are authorized from the Water Authorities Capital Contrib-NEWPP Fund and the HPW-NEWPP Construction Fund. In addition to surface water and drainage projects, the city allocated $546,000 from the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund to BGE, Inc. The second amendment to BGE's existing contract covers professional engineering services for facility improvements at various well sites and re-pump stations across Districts A, F, and G. Procurement for distribution network maintenance was also approved, with the council authorizing $621,288.69 for water meters and replacement parts from Neptune Technology Group, Inc., secured through the Houston-Galveston Area Council cooperative purchasing program.
