The City of Pasadena, Texas, has greenlit a series of significant water and wastewater infrastructure contracts, anchored by a multi-million dollar lift station overhaul. During its August 4 meeting, the Pasadena City Council unanimously passed an ordinance awarding a $3,664,847 contract to T Construction, LLC. The contract covers the Olson Lane Lift Station and Pasadena Blvd. Lift Station projects. These critical collection system upgrades will be financed through a combination of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allocations and the city’s System Capital Improvement Project (CIP) fund. In addition to the lift station overhaul, the council advanced improvements at the Golden Acres Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Geotest Engineering, Inc. was awarded a $31,250 contract to provide materials testing services for the facility's Solids Handling System Improvements. On the water distribution and metering front, the council finalized a $221,519 procurement with Core & Main LP for 200 Neptune meters, aimed at modernizing the city's water billing infrastructure. Council members also approved a final progress payment of $444,957 to W.W. Payton Corporation, marking the culmination of the Cascade Water Tank Improvements Project. While advancing long-term capital projects, city officials also noted the immediate challenges posed by summer weather on the distribution network. Councilmember Emmanuel Guerrero highlighted that the city has begun reporting water line breaks on its social media platforms to improve public transparency, publicly thanking utility crews for completing emergency repairs in extreme heat.
