The Chattanooga City Council unanimously approved an expansion of the City of Chattanooga and Hamilton County Water Quality Monitoring Project during its June 23, 2026, meeting. The approved Change Order No. 2 with Woolpert, Inc. increases the contract by $334,849, bringing the total revised contract amount to $919,849. The expanded scope includes the addition of six automated water quality samplers to the local monitoring network. Furthermore, Woolpert will provide continuous statistical analysis and telemetry services for an additional three years. Crucially for the city's compliance efforts, the change order also funds the creation of visualization tools specifically aimed at streamlining regulatory reporting. In addition to the water quality monitoring project, the council cleared two specific procurement items for the city's wastewater division. The council authorized a Year 4 contract renewal with Solution Works. The renewal includes a 5.1% price increase, which staff attributed to inflationary costs, setting the new estimated annual spend for the services at $370,000. Finally, the council approved a funding increase for a previously authorized wastewater equipment purchase. An additional $3,150 was approved to cover freight charges for an odor control fan from Ecotec. The purchase order, originally approved by the council in January 2026 for $79,900, now totals $83,050.
