Council authorised bid advertising for the $3.5 million Well 4 Improvements Project, Project 2742.3, CIP 50805.

A $680,000 WRF Digester Exterior Coating and Insulation Replacement Project will also be tendered.

Staff may advertise the 2027 Sanitary Sewer Televising Project, estimated at $475,000.

The council authorised staff to seek engineering-services proposals for the North Rapid Reservoir at Elk Vale Drive, under TIFD 103.

The measures were approved as part of the council's consent calendar on 5 October.

Rapid City Council has cleared a $4.655 million package of water and wastewater projects for procurement, including major improvements at Well 4 and renewal work on a water-reclamation-facility digester. The council authorised staff at its 5 October meeting to advertise bids for the Well 4 Improvements Project, carrying an estimated cost of $3.5 million. The project is identified as Project 2742.3 under CIP 50805. The agenda did not provide further detail on the scope of the well works. The city will also tender the WRF Digester Exterior Coating and Insulation Replacement Project, estimated at $680,000. The work, Project 2834.6 under CIP 51293, concerns exterior coating and insulation at the water reclamation facility’s digester assets. In the collection network, the council approved advertisement of bids for the 2027 Sanitary Sewer Televising Project. Project 2913, CIP 51350.27, has an estimated value of $475,000. The decision authorises tendering rather than construction award. Alongside the bid packages, councillors authorised staff to seek engineering-services proposals for the North Rapid Reservoir at Elk Vale Drive. The reservoir scheme is designated TIFD 103, Project 2922 and CIP 50474. No estimated engineering-services value or project delivery schedule was stated at the meeting. The water and wastewater actions were included in the consent calendar and passed without any item being removed for separate debate. Council also approved both the Capital Plan for Public Works Infrastructure and the 2027-2031 Five Year Capital Plan for Public Works Infrastructure, although the meeting record provided no project-level funding detail from those plans. Separately, the council approved a $27,550 temporary construction easement and permanent utility easement agreement with West Golden Investments for the Miscellaneous Facility Improvements Project, covering facility access roads and site improvements.
