The $14.9 million contract covers clarifier rehabilitation and filter splitter box improvements at the Coffee Creek facility.

Crossland Heavy secured the work, having previously completed the first phase of the city's water plant construction.

Director of Water Resources Chris Kniefing noted the project cost came in slightly higher than expected but is fully funded by an existing loan.

The Edmond Public Works Authority in Oklahoma has approved a $14,988,038 contract for infrastructure upgrades at the Coffee Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF). Awarded unanimously on August 24, the contract covers clarifier rehabilitation and filter splitter box improvements at the plant. The work will be carried out by Crossland Heavy, a division of Crossland Construction. The contractor previously delivered the first phase of the city's water plant construction, which city officials noted was a successful project. Director of Water Resources Chris Kniefing told the authority that the WRRF improvements have been in the planning stages for some time and were included in the utility's capital improvement program and rate plan. While Kniefing noted that the final project costs came in "a little more than expected," he confirmed that financing is already secured. The city will fund the upgrades utilizing an existing FAP loan that was finalized approximately two years ago. The contract award followed a unanimous recommendation for approval by the city's public works committee prior to the authority's final 5-0 vote.
