The Oklahoma City Council advanced several water and stormwater infrastructure initiatives on August 18, 2026, highlighted by land acquisition efforts for a vital pump station upgrade. Through its consent docket, the Council adopted a joint resolution with the Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust declaring the necessity to acquire real property for the Booster Pump Station No. 15 Replacement (Project WC-0901-2). The resolution authorizes the City Manager to purchase the required fee simple title and instructs the Municipal Counselor to initiate condemnation proceedings if a settlement cannot be reached with property owners. The Council also approved a $186,761.26 change order with Schwarz Paving Company, Inc. for waterline and sanitary sewer relocations associated with roadway widening on SW 29th Street from South Rockwell Avenue to South MacArthur Boulevard. On the stormwater front, the city approved a consulting services contract with Green Country Testing, Inc. for citywide stormwater analysis and data report generation through June 2027. Additionally, plans and specifications for Phase 3 of a storm sewer relief main near SW 7th Street and South Robinson Avenue were authorized to be advertised for bids.
