Bids and bid bonds were received for the Emergency Water Service Line Replacement Project (ITB No. BCWS-26-Z2).

Bids were also received for the Preventive Maintenance Water Service Line Replacement Project (ITB No. BCWS-26-Z3).

Commissioners approved $149,371 in budget amendments for the Water and Sewer department to cover indirect costs.

The Board approved the promotion of a Wastewater Operator III at $33.88 per hour and a temporary Chief Inspector reassignment at $36.03 per hour.

During the July 21, 2026, meeting of the Butler County Board of Commissioners, officials advanced procurement efforts for the county's water distribution network, formally receiving bids for two separate water service line replacement contracts. The Butler County Water and Sewer Department presented bids and bid bonds for the Emergency Water Service Line Replacement Project (ITB No. BCWS-26-Z2) alongside the Preventive Maintenance Water Service Line Replacement Project (ITB No. BCWS-26-Z3). Following the Board's acceptance of the submissions, the utility department will review the bids to formulate recommendations for final contract awards. In addition to the procurement actions, the Board approved a financial amendment for the water utility. Finance Director Dave McCormick presented an appropriation amendment totaling $149,371 to cover the indirect costs billed to the Water and Sewer department by the Central Service Department for the 2026 fiscal year. The Commissioners also approved several routine utility personnel items during the session. This included the promotion of Joseph Cundy from Wastewater Operator II to Wastewater Operator III at an hourly rate of $33.88, effective August 8, 2026. Additionally, the Board approved the temporary reassignment of Jeffrey McWhorter from Senior Inspector to Chief Inspector at $36.03 per hour to cover a staff leave of absence. All water and sewer resolutions were passed unanimously by the attending commissioners.
