The Clark County Board of Commissioners, acting in its capacity as the CCWRD Board of Trustees, unanimously approved the contract during a July 21, 2026, public hearing. The agreement, which takes effect immediately and expires on June 30, 2031, covers 257 eligible utility employees. David Stoff, representing the district, told the board that the agreement is vital to supporting daily operations and the utility's core mission of providing a wastewater and collection treatment process that is essential to sustaining the community's water resources. The negotiations resulted in administrative updates rather than sweeping overhauls. According to Stoff, no new articles were added to the contract. Instead, nine existing articles were amended, and the effective dates of an existing memorandum of agreement were clarified. Because the changes center on language clarifications, the financial burden on the utility is minimal, with the first-year estimated fiscal impact totaling less than $32,000. During the public hearing, several residents voiced support for the wastewater personnel, emphasizing the critical health and environmental protections provided by the district's workforce.
