Herrick Co., Inc. was awarded a $3.1 million contract for final clarifier coating at both the Town Branch and West Hickman wastewater treatment plants.

Pace Contracting, LLC secured a $424,000 bid to replace the high flow diversion box at the West Hickman facility.

The council approved a site-specific agreement with the Jessamine South Elkhorn Water District to provide sanitary sewer conveyance and treatment capacity for portions of neighboring Jessamine County.

The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council advanced multiple water quality infrastructure projects during its May 14 meeting, approving over $3.5 million in contracts for upgrades at its two main wastewater treatment plants. The largest approval was a $3,100,250 contract awarded to Herrick Co., Inc. for final clarifier coating work at both the Town Branch and West Hickman Wastewater Treatment Plants. Herrick Co. secured the contract as the single low bidder. In a separate resolution, the council awarded a $424,000 contract to Pace Contracting, LLC for the replacement of the high flow diversion box at the West Hickman facility. The city also approved a $54,870 purchase from sole-source provider In-Situ for service and parts related to the online process analyzer at the West Hickman plant. Beyond capital upgrades, the council authorized an inter-jurisdictional agreement to expand regional wastewater service. The site-specific agreement with the Jessamine South Elkhorn Water District and Madden KR, LLC will allow Lexington to provide sanitary sewer conveyance and treatment capacity to designated properties in neighboring Jessamine County. A council member successfully moved to suspend the rules to expedite the second reading of this sewer conveyance agreement, which passed with unanimous support from the council.
