The council also advanced an annexation request to transition a local property from a septic system to the municipal sewer network.

The City of Fishers, Indiana, has authorized a $1.15 million capital outlay from its Sewer Operating Fund to support the expansion of municipal wastewater infrastructure at two local recreational sites. Approved unanimously by the City Council on August 17, Resolution R081726C allows the city controller to appropriate the funds directly from the sewer utility's cash reserves. According to a municipal council action form, the capital improvements will fund the construction of four-season restroom facilities at the Fishers Sports Complex and the Plateau. Each location will receive four separate unisex, ADA-compliant restrooms. During the meeting, council members requested additional accessibility features for the new infrastructure. In response, municipal staff confirmed that the city will ensure the project plans include push-button door access and adult changing tables at each site. Because the $1.15 million is being drawn from existing, unallocated cash balances within the Sewer Operating Fund, the project will not require new debt issuance. The city controller's office noted that the appropriation simply moves existing funds into an approved spending category for the 2026 budget year. Separately, the council also advanced a voluntary annexation request for a 0.78-acre property on East 136th Street. According to municipal planning staff, the annexation will allow the site to abandon its existing septic system and connect to the municipal sewer network via an adjacent subdivision.
