He said the investment would enable Orange County Utilities to restore reliable service. “While there was never a risk to the environment or the community, this investment will allow us to restore reliable service,” Demings said. The Mayor thanked field essential workers who had worked “day and night” on the pipe repair. He said the county’s utilities team was advancing the work and that the county would continue to ensure the critical infrastructure was properly repaired, with community health and safety remaining a priority. The repair procurement was among the consent items approved unanimously by the commissioners.
