A new biosolid processing facility by Sedron, in partnership with Synagro, will be located in the village to convert sludge into a peat-like material while eliminating PFAS.

Existing water capacity limits are currently delaying phases of the 2,500-unit Terra Lago master-planned community.

The Village of Indiantown, Florida, is executing a sweeping modernization of its municipal water and wastewater systems as existing capacity limits begin to throttle local growth. During a June 16, 2026, joint municipal meeting, village officials detailed progress on multiple major capital projects, including new treatment plants and a cutting-edge biosolids facility. Village Manager Taryn Kryzda noted that the village is currently "at capacity" regarding its existing water plant. This shortfall is currently holding back subsequent phases of the 2,500-unit Terra Lago development, which is waiting on a new water facility to proceed. To address the capacity and quality issues, the village is planning a new reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant. Utilities and Public Works Director Pat Nolan reported that the village is currently drilling the fourth of four planned Floridan aquifer wells to provide source water for the new RO facility. In the interim, Indiantown is using State Revolving Fund (SRF) money to rehabilitate four of its eight existing wells to improve water quality at the current plant. Simultaneously, Indiantown is constructing a new wastewater treatment plant, with work currently underway on the administration building and tankage. The village is also rehabilitating its existing reuse plant to provide future irrigation water. To manage the waste streams from both new facilities, a deep injection well is approximately 75% complete. This well will dispose of the concentrate from the upcoming RO plant as well as effluent from the new wastewater facility. In a significant development for regional sludge management, Kryzda announced that Sedron will locate a new biosolids processing facility in the village's industrial area. Operating under an approved contract involving Martin County and Synagro, the facility will process biosolids into a peat moss-like consistency while eliminating PFAS and PFOS compounds. On the distribution side, Indiantown is moving forward with replacing a 100-year-old water main along the CSX railroad on Railroad Avenue, having secured grant funding in December. The village is also working to secure federal grant funding for an additional water main project at 151st and Osceola Street.
