Bulldog Sitework, LLC was awarded a $1,259,728 contract to construct 3,400 feet of 5-inch force main for the Old Homosassa Rooks septic-to-sewer project.

Commissioners accepted the final completion of the $7.39 million Brentwood Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrades, releasing $368,052 in retainage to L7 Construction, Inc.

The board approved the FY 2026-2027 Stormwater MSBU at a flat rate of $58.84 per ESU, expected to generate $5.36 million for stormwater management.

Utility Availability Assessments were also reimposed at $21.77 per ERP for water and $29.51 per ERP for wastewater to fund utility operations and maintenance.

Citrus County, Florida, has authorized key advancements in its wastewater capital improvement program, awarding a new septic-to-sewer construction contract while officially closing the books on a major treatment facility upgrade. During their August 25, 2026 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners approved a $1,259,728 agreement with Bulldog Sitework, LLC for the Old Homosassa Rooks – Cedar Lakes Mobile Home and RV Park Septic to Sewer Project. The scope of work includes the construction of approximately 3,400 linear feet of 5-inch diameter force main along Mason Creek Road, connecting the mobile home park to the county's central sewer system. The base bid was $1,159,728, with the county allocating an additional $100,000 in contingency funds. The project is supported by a grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). Simultaneously, the board accepted the final completion of the Brentwood Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrades. The $7.39 million project, constructed by L7 Construction, Inc., reached final completion on July 1, 2026. The board approved the release of $368,052 in final retainage funds to the contractor, officially closing out the modernization effort. In addition to the wastewater infrastructure approvals, commissioners took action to secure ongoing utility and stormwater funding for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 by conducting public hearings to reimpose annual assessments. The board approved the reimposition of the county's Stormwater Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU). The assessment rate will remain flat at $58.84 per Net Equivalent Stormwater Unit (ESU), which is projected to generate approximately $5.36 million to fund stormwater management services, facility maintenance, and water quality programs throughout the unincorporated areas of the county. Commissioners also approved Utility Availability Assessments to fund operations and maintenance services for potable water and wastewater lines available to undeveloped properties. The maximum annual assessments remain unchanged at $21.77 per Equivalent Residential Property (ERP) for water and $29.51 per ERP for wastewater, covering estimated service costs of $580,853 and $151,301, respectively.
