The West Basin Municipal Water District Board of Directors approved a $3,000 sponsorship for the 2026 BMC Citywide Revival during a special meeting on July 30, 2026. The two-day event, hosted by the Baptist Ministers Conference of Los Angeles and Southern California, is scheduled for August 4-5. Director Gloria Gray recommended the sponsorship, noting that the event will allow the district to share information about water and its operations with several hundred attendees. The $3,000 sponsorship grants the district a speaking opportunity, an information table to distribute promotional materials, and logo placement for event marketing. Because the event was less than 10 business days away, the board was required to waive its standard policy for sponsorship approvals. The board passed the motion with a 3-0 vote, with two directors absent. The funds will be drawn from the district's Fiscal Year 2026-27 Community Outreach Budget. Prior to this approval, the $75,000 budget had an available balance of $58,500. Following the $3,000 expenditure, the remaining balance stands at $55,500. Staff noted this is the first time West Basin has sponsored this specific event.
